Farewell, Princess!

Postby Shada Dukal » Tue Dec 27, 2016 10:40 pm

Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia, Star Wars) died today. She meant a lot to my generation, to the people who grew up with Star Wars in the 1980s. Apart from her acting, she was also a writer, she had a devastating sense of humor, she ridiculed the industry she worked for, she spoke openly about her problems with drugs and mental issues. She was a person with her flaws and quirks, not a screen ornament or a doll. RIP.

Never watched Star Trek before 2013.

Yeah, too bad, Carrie Fisher and her mother developed a mutual appreciation over the last 20 years although they did not see eye to eye when Carrie was younger. Debbie Reynolds suffered a severe stroke only 15 minutes after telling her son that she would like to be with Carrie. Debbie Reynolds was a Hollywood legend, everyone has watched “Singin’ in the Rain.” RIP.

I still feel sad that such an actress that not only had an unique personality, unlike most female actors, but also played a huge role in the movie series that I really loved since my childhood.

Farewell, Princess.
