When it comes to the Betreka Nebula Incident, I think you might like this book.

I remember the episode and it answers some questions for me too. a concept/idea Ive been working on, w/ a fellow Cardassian..is a post-DW story-line where-in the Cardassians are re-building. Since we are a pragmatic race, my story involves a Fed/Klingon alliance helping us to re-build and to eventually stand on our own two feet. a new planet, old ships, three moons and a beach, lol.

Hello, Makor TeCam,

I would be very wary of the Klingons and the Federation too. I think Klingons can only benefit from a weakened Cardassia and the Federation guards Alon Ghemor’s pro-Federation government by means of peace-keeping forces patrolling Cardassia. Alon Ghemor is assassinated in 2379 for being unable to protect the Cardassian national interests.

On the other hand, Garak manages to negotiate several border planets for Cardassia in exchange for the Cardassian help during the Borg crisis in 2381 and in 2385, he finalizes the withdrawal of the Starfleet forces from Cardassia. He gained a lot of experience as a Cardassian Ambassador to the UFP so he was quite versed in the Federation practices and could foresee whether Cardassia could benefit from them or not. So having a dialogue and keeping unhealthy appetites at bay are different things.

Does your story development take into account these Memory Beta arcs? I like the part with the beach. Lying in the sun and sipping Cardassian Sunrise. Sounds interesting.
